ALEX DEN, CATERING SALES MANAGER
With more than ten years of event planning experience, Alex Den is the Catering Sales Manager at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Ariz., which is celebrating 90 years of welcoming guests in 2019. Den joins the storied resort with extensive experience crafting events of all kinds, from christenings, to Quinceañeras, to anniversaries. However, creating memorable weddings to celebrate the start of a couple’s life together has always been her favorite.
Den’s responsibilities are many, ensuring that every detail to make a wedding day special and perfect for couples, are taken care of from start to finish – from coordinating outside vendors, conducting site visits, catering and more. She also oversees coordination of wedding rehearsals, and regularly meets with couples and their families to detail catering events to ensure that everything is just right for the most memorable day of their lives.
Den first joined Pyramid Hotel Group in August 2017 as Sales Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Seattle, where she exceeded over 1 million dollars in group sales in the first half of 2018 and was awarded Manager of the Year. She previously held positions as Director of Sales for Alonti Hospitality in Los Angeles and Director of Sales & Catering for April Sound Country Club in Montgomery, TX. She began her professional event planning career in Houston, TX as Regional Manager of Fred Astaire Dance Studios.
Den has been planning events for as long as she can remember. Growing up, she loved to shadow her mother, who was a community leader, always volunteering for fundraising events and planning birthday parties. The first time Den planned and executed an event was when she led her junior class in orchestrating the junior and senior prom. With years of volunteering with her mom under her belt, she hit the ground running and managed everything from finding the venue, to negotiating the pricing, to choosing a Havana Nights theme. After months of planning, the event came together seamlessly, and she knew that creating magic and memories was the career path for her.
Born and raised in the Seattle area, Den is a fourth generation Pacific Northwesterner. In her free time, she enjoys music and never turns down an opportunity to travel.
